Thanks for checking out my portfolio! If we haven't met, my name is Ilana Karp. Born and raised in sunny South Florida, educated at the University of Kansas's award-winning school of Journalism and Mass Communications, and entering the workforce during the social media boom, I have a unique perspective and specific set of skills that have served me well in the digital journalism space. 

I have 5+ years of experience in the journalism industry, ranging from television, to editorial, to social media and social video. In an industry and a world that's constantly changing, I, too, have learned how to be adaptable and utilize my skills across disciplines. 

At the moment, you can catch me on BuzzFeed News's social media accounts as a video journalist. At the heart of it all, I am a storyteller. No matter what new medium or platform arises, my goal is always to tell compelling, inspiring stories. The world needs more of that.
